Am I Getting Braver?

I think maybe.

Yes.

I know you want the night time potty update, so here it is:

I am very brave to go out to the privy by myself... at night... when my Great Guy is here.
Even if he's asleep.
Such as tonight.
I had thoughts to myself like "Am I brave?"
And then I opened the front door and heard crashing sounds in the forest beyond the meadow in front of me.
And eyes.
I saw "the eyes".
I almost thought to wake my beloved to accompany me, but then I thought "A moose."
"Only mooses thunder like a blunderbuss through the thicket where a salt lick use to be."

*(And I know "mooses" isn't correct English for the plural of moose, but I like it better and I'm the brave one telling the story here, so back to it!)

Plus, the poor fellow was probably scared out of his wits!
Me?
Amazingly I wasn't. I resumed my heroic thoughts and made the short sprint to our outhouse.
And back.
Now I will probably pay for that dash tomorrow, but...
I was pretty brave, don't you think?
And it makes a good story!

Just to be clear, if my Great Guy goes out of town again...
I will not hesitate even ONCE to use the hassock inside the house.

  1. At least you were not so scared when you heard the noise and saw the eyes that using the privy was still an option. tee hee

  2. I cannot wait to see you! You know the saying "hope floats' so if there is a body of water around, may I tell you to go jump in a lake to see if you float?

  4. Reminds me a little of Africa. We were always armed with a lantern and machete to visit the outhouse there, but it most certainly had to be a NECESSARY trip before I was able to brave it. There it was the eyes on the ground that most got to me - Gabon having some of the most poisionous snakes in the world and all.

  5. Shauna, snakes were my first thought when you said that, and personally I think those critters are just plain creepy!
A moose is kind of like... a big cow! Not so scary without the red eyes;-)

    Thanks Mom:-)

Grace, I hope you will. I could use a cool dip RIGHT NOW! and I bet that I will still be well-heated in September. In fact I told AJ the other day that the Dead Sea would probably force me completely out of the water with my current state of boyancy!!!
Can't wait to see you too:-)

    Love!

  6. lol, silly goose! Yes, I don't blame you. Eyes, darkness, the smell of waste that can't escape a plastic box. Yes, I would probably do the same ")

P.S. I wonder that maybe, just maybe, that pair of eyes was connected to a something that was tired of going 'in the woods'. Maybe he was waiting his turn? :P
