Is THIS what you think of when I say "California"?

Welcome to us, from the place where our roots go deep!

  3. Yes, but you LIVE here!
It is amazing how many people in other states think that California is one big beach:-D

  4. Ah yes, that does look my California.

I have, however, learned much about my home state since moving to Canada:

It is all one big beach,
    There are NO mountains, and
    NO SNOW,
    It's always warm,
    It's entirely covered by city,
    There's no country,
    No small towns, and
Certainly NO farming (this does provide a bit of confusion when I point out that fruit they're eating has a California orgin sticker on it. Maybe everyone just has a fruit tree or two in their postage stamp backyard and all collaborate on marketing their bounty),
The only trees there are palms,
Or for the broad minded, redwoods,
Every second person is a movie star,
Everyone here has a cousin there who I should know, and,
    Nobody likes Canadians (???)

I have tried to enlighten one or two folks, but discovered that really, they know much more than someone who grew up there, so now I just smile, let them think what they will, and invite them to come for a visit with me someday.

  5. I've seen that mountain before. It's a pretty view.

I found your blog through Pam's blog. As a former California girl I wanted to add to Shauna's list. One of the most frequent comments I hear about California is that it's full of weirdos. I know for a fact, California doesn't have a corner on the weirdo market. My husband loves to call it "The Land of Fruits and Nuts."

The other common question is how do people live where there are earthquakes?

This is my first visit to your blog and I enjoyed looking around.
    Blessings on your family.
