Got a wild hair and pulled out some girlie fabric and a pair of old boys jeans with no knee left in them.
I had this idea that I could one-up a skirt and pair of bloomers for feminine play clothes, so in foof-a-fying this cast off, I managed to satiate my creative streak while recycling something that looked like it had no life left in it.
I do think a pair of blingy cowgirl boots would step it up a notch!
I would improve this version (and maybe will yet, because I think there's a steady supply of holey-kneed jeans in our future) by shortening the length of the pant, and I might use lighter weight fabric in a dark color for the little "skirts".
All in all, it was a fun project (and quick, which is my speed), and made the girl smile.
I'm smiling too :-)
Love it 'Lene, you always did have the best ideas! I hope you don't mind if I'm so bold as to immitate you. Don't have too many of the boy varity jeans around here, but even the girlie ones get holes.
ReplyDeleteI knew you could improve this Shauna - just promise to post pictures!
ReplyDeleteLoving you,
me
How Darling--and practical too! I am sure these doll-ed up jeans are going to be in big demand in your house. Too bad you don't have time to be an online entrepreneur--these look like $$$$ to me. Wonderful idea, Ana dearest! Yep--need girlie boots...(making mental notes for a future occasion...)
ReplyDeleteLove it!! GO mom. My girl is asking for a dress... I just don't know if my sewing skills are there yet.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Can I have a pair too...??? P-l-e-a-s-e? :o)
ReplyDeleteNo wonder you like them Mom - that fabric was YOURS! HA!
ReplyDeleteLinda - no skill required on this project. Promise!
For one leg, sew your fabric strip to make a complete circle (like you would a skirt.
Sew a couple long running stitches about 1/2 " apart and pull threads to gather.
Pin skirt to pant cutoff right sides together.
That's pretty much it.
