I had a lovely Mother's day,
and enjoyed the pleasure of sitting out in the sun.
But the best treat was when I asked my Great Guy if he'd toss up a board
so we could hang swings for the babies.
And he immediately stopped what he was doing
starting right to work.
But it wasn't a "toss" affair.
It was a serious job that lasted through the day.
THIS is why:
These pictures are from this evening when he finished up
but yesterday Uncle Char came down and helped
operate the excavator which kept tension on the rope holding the log up.
AJ finagled and jockeyed the crossbeam to get it in just the right place
as Charlie hollered up to him
"That's Peasant's work, man!"
to which my husband promptly replied
"Yeah.
It reminds me why
I don't want to be a peasant!"
Well Babe. For the record, I think you'd cut a fine figure of a peasant
but if you don't mind
I'll defer watching you climb ladders of that length in the future!
(I'm glad it was the "short" one)
Upon inspecting his handiwork, I declare that "baby" swings would
be a waste to the length of chain used.
Well.
Maybe ONE baby swing.
But the other needs fit an XL size fanny!
Upon completion this evening, there was a test run
conducted by the ever-helpful and most-brave
(not to mention "lucky to fit")
Uncle Charlie.
Oh thank you thank you THANK YOU Dearest!!!
