Reveling... lots of reveling.

The Spring has finally sprung here on our hill, and with it some nearly-summer kind of days.
2 weeks of  postpartum "aftershocks" and an additional week spent feeling like myself again
finds me in the most "ready-to-revel-in-every-marvelous-little-thing" mood this weekend!

Come peek at the marvels of Marvel Hill........................................

 Workin' boys

A girl and a hose... endless entertainment :-)

Thank you Lord, for sunshine and warm days for being outdoors!

AJ, Dad, and the "other" swing

I got you too Mom!

Yeeeeeeeee----- HA!

Dear Cinnamon,

They say that a picture is worth a thousand words,

but I doubt even the pictures will tell you just how grateful I am for your kind heart!

(For those who are in the dark, my lovely friend Cinnamon in Iowa mailed a party in not one
but THREE packages!)

Bryce inspected (and tried on) everything with careful deliberation :-)

Thank you my sweet friend!  I am still taking in every piece - each magazine that has
blessed my time of rest, and the box of much-appreciated diapers!!
Sue was so excited to "do Math" with connect the dots :-)  And as you can see,
Bryce put the shoes to use right away.
I would have to say that the "Toot-sie" rolls have been the biggest hit, and unfortunately for them,
the kids haven't been allowed to eat any yet, but the banks are just as good of fun, and as long
as one can count, and rattle, and shake up the "Toot-sies"... life is fine:-)

I love ya!

I asked for a swing...

I had a lovely Mother's day,
and enjoyed the pleasure of sitting out in the sun.

But the best treat was when I asked my Great Guy if he'd toss up a board
so we could hang swings for the babies.

And he immediately stopped what he was doing
starting right to work.

But it wasn't a "toss" affair.
It was a serious job that lasted through the day.

THIS is why:

These pictures are from this evening when he finished up
but yesterday Uncle Char came down and helped
operate the excavator which kept tension on the rope holding the log up.

AJ finagled and jockeyed the crossbeam to get it in just the right place
as Charlie hollered up to him
"That's Peasant's work, man!"
to which my husband promptly replied
"Yeah.
It reminds me why
I don't want to be a peasant!"

Well Babe.  For the record, I think you'd cut a fine figure of a peasant
 but if you don't mind
I'll defer watching you climb ladders of that length in the future!
(I'm glad it was the "short" one)

Upon inspecting his handiwork, I declare that "baby" swings would
be a waste to the length of chain used.
Well.
Maybe ONE baby swing.

But the other needs fit an XL size fanny!

Upon completion this evening, there was a test run
conducted by the ever-helpful and most-brave
(not to mention "lucky to fit")
 Uncle Charlie.

Oh thank you thank you THANK YOU Dearest!!!

Lollipops

Sitting on my desk waiting for the birth of a baby.

Baby's debut accompanies winter-ish weather and no hope of an outdoor party.

Baby doesn't mind, but brothers and sisters get antsy

"Soon"  says Momma "on the first sunny afternoon"

Waiting. Waiting. Waiting.  Tenderly fingered by every small finger that passes by

and impatient requests "Now Momma?"

Oh dear.  The forecast predicts rain and more rain through the coming week.

What?!

This morning dawned with clear skies proclaiming truth that man is powerless to know...

But God does.

He knows and cares.

He takes pleasure in small things.

He delights in small people.

What He does is not always recognized as big.

But we know better!

Because we had a sunny afternoon today :-)

And a "Welcome Aloria" celebration

with Lollipops.

Thank you LORD, for your big blessings on these small people!

The view over the end of my bed

I've been so fortunate to rest a lot.  I have a greater value for the quick and complete
recovery that comes with taking it easy, and since AJ's mom, my "Mom-in-love"
has come to help out with the running of the household and loving on her grandies...
I am taking full advantage!

When I've been taking it easy from my bed - nursing, changing, kissing, and generally
playing with my "new toy" (as my Dearly Beloved calls her), I've not been in seclusion.
No indeed!  I've had lots of nice things to look at and enjoy
(notwithstanding the clean pile of clothes, which is its own cheering sight!).

Yikes!  This scary head came into the room growling!

And some Math recitation...

...which inevitably turns into distraction

The view gets closer and closer when visitors find out that Sister is awake and chatty.

Oh the wonder of it - this time in my place of rest!

Good-Busy

It was a busy weekend.

AJ's folks arrived and Dad and AJ went right to town building a railing for the new staircase
which leads to the new office for AJ and Uncle Char, which will free up our guest cabin
(which is being overtaken by their current office and all it's paraphanilia), so that we can
actually accommodate guests this Summer.

Fancy that.

Somewhere along the line I believed we were moving to a remote location, and would be
forever away from family, nowhere near close enough for people to want to visit.

I was mistaken.

We've never had so much company IN OUR LIVES as we get up here!
Saturday culminated with 10 adults and 19 children.
And the weather isn't even great yet!

But isn't this the best kind of busy?
It is.
