Catching Up

I know I promised a post yesterday, but it was just "one of those days" (if you know what I mean).

1) My phone wasn't working again, and I hadn't heard from my husband saying he'd arrived in
KY safely.

2) I had to "drill" the boys on standing still. They didn't like that too much (which verified it's
needing to be done), and I felt like a big meany!

3) I clipped the end of Carolina's finger with the nail clippers.
Believe it or not, it was my very first time ever! Though I've heard of people doing that, it's
never been ME.
That did not make me feel any better about it though, I assure you!

4) I had Carolina at the computer and she bumped a key with her foot.
All the sudden, I had no computer, and no monitor! I didn't know there was a key that could
DO that! Did you?

Late in the afternoon we threw all caution to the wind and packed ourselves off to the Smith's house (bringing a supply of ice cream) where we spent the night and this morning.

It was a breath of fresh air, and now I'm ready to be home - ready to try again tomorrow!

I guess I didn't tell that Saturday was a lovely (though brief) time with my husband and children We all took a walk out behind the house where there is a dry creek bed, lots of wild flowers, and wildlife too!
I purposely didn't bring the camera. I want my children to believe I love their antics and discoveries without having to turn them into a photo shoot...
But I will tell you that I really missed having it!
The kiddo's found an inch worm, caught a gigantic grasshopper, and also a lizard!

Olivia walked hand in hand with her daddy, in her other hand a fist full of wild flowers (so sweet!)
The weather was beautiful!
The company - the best!
The time, much too short.

I am very thankful for it anyway, and looking forward to having my husband live with me again! ;-)

So... ON TO A NEW DAY!!

Sounds like those would have been some amazing pictures Analene...You must bring the camera!

Also, I've been meaning to tell you that I saw a rooster that looked an awful lot like Fancy at your parents house at Nick's party. I took a picture too, but haven't gotten it posted yet. It made me think of you!

I am sorry you had such a ruff day. I have had days like that. Actually I have them fairly often.

I am happy to hear that your time with the WHOLE family went well.

Love you lots, I will try to call tomorrow, although no garenties with our current life.
