In Which I Reveal the Up-close and Personal...

WOW! You gals are the BEST, and made me smile and laugh - a lot!
I have some new names to consider thanks to you all. Please keep leaving comments with your suggestions - I love it!

Shelly it is a pleasure to meet you:-) Sophia is on my list, and I have a sweet little Olivia already so that just goes to show that one of us has great taste in names! Ha!

As to my weight...
I was just tickled at how many of you wouldn't touch that subject with a ten foot pole;
how many gingerly guessed a conservative number which would ensure the longevity of our friendship; but the best guess belongs to Shauna.

Shauna, I wouldn't THINK of being mad at a woman who (when yet a girl) helped me freeze our brother's swimming trunks, or who understands the value of a toilet plunger. History runs thick and deep, and while it's possible you could guess my weight from that picture... I doubt it.
I think you're on my wavelength.
That, and you're too far to reach ;-D

Shauna guessed my 35 week weight at 167 lbs.

And the correct weight (drum roll please) is 168 lbs. That is a 58 pound weight gain in eight months! Top THAT! Hahaha!!!

I am fairly confident the scale wasn't lying. It knows... and I am experienced.

It is a little awkward to drop all that weight six to twelve months after baby is born, and that has been that pattern for the last eight plus years, but if the pregnancy is "boringly normal" and baby is healthy and well I don't complain.

Especially since complaining would require desperate action.
Action such as giving up my Safeway Rocky Road ice cream.
Aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhkkkkk!! Nnnnooooooooooooooo------!!!!!!

Thank you each for your kind and dear words that blessed my emotional spirit. I am so thankful for the Lord's blessing of you in my life:-)

I feel mighty strange commenting anyway because I haven't truly met you, I could never dream of guessing your weight! I would love, however, to make a comment about names.

We never used Amariah because I thought it was too close to their cousin Moriah (and I knew they'd play together). I liked Amarya, but I found out it's technically a boy's name. So I settled on Aaliyah. I really like that one because it means "rising up."

You are welcome to any, of course!

I hope you have a wonderful night!

I don't weigh myself! But I have been known to put on some pounds myself. Is every one of your preg this way or have they varied? Well, we are all glad to know you can put on weight when you need to. ;) You are beautiful and I still recognize you. ha ha ha

Wow, I can't believe I missed it by a whole pound! I guess that means we need to spend some time together soon so I'm not so disconnected.
Some girls names I might consider, but Karl never would are, Annika, Daria, Karrisa and Natalia. I honestly don't know what we'll do if we have another girl someday - with two girls we seem to have already exhausted the list of names we can agree on!
I'm praying for you as you enter this final stretch of your endurance race, the strength to finish lies in Him!

Names I like but Kevin does not..........Fiona, Nuala and Maurah. Hmmmm............I guess I am convinced you are having a girl. I cannot think of any names for boys. ;) And by the way............I would not guess your weight because I would not want my weight guessed. tee hee

No way! I would never have guessed that you had gained that much from the picture you posted. I was going to say maybe 35 or so... Think of what an encouragement you are to everyone though when you say that you have lost it all 5 times already :) I am only 7 weeks along but am already starting to put on the pounds. If my stomach gets even just a little bit empty I feel sick. So... I snack ALL the time! My 2 year old is snacking right along with me so we will see how that goes. It feels weird to try sneaking my snacks!!! You are beautiful and I can't wait to hear your birthing story as well as see pictures of the new precious life!

By the way, thank you for pointing out that the swim trunk freezing episode occurred while we were yet girls. Although, you never know what I may be up to in my old age! Actually, I appreciate you relating that story. I told it to Karl once and he wasn't sure whether he should believe me or not. Now it's been validated. Leaves him wondering just how much more there is to learn about this silly wife of his!

Wow you again weight like me. Glad I am not the only one. My worst was with my second and I got up to 180ish...I stopped weighing after I hit 180. I have managed to lose the weight after each of them and get back to almost my 110 previous pre-baby weight. I did try with my third to eat REALLY well and workout everday. I still gained 40 pounds. Oh well. Enjoy the ice cream!

Shauna, I will try to think of some other good ones for Karl, but honestly, some things are better left to our own memories and the occasional smile that may bring;-)
I thought it might be good to specify about the swimming trunks. I did refrain from some telling of the other escapades (see above).
I may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but I am getting wiser in my old age - if only by small increments!
It's good for you that you erred on the light side of being correct in your guess:-D

Jenny, all my pregnancies have been very similar. My third (Susanna) was the lightest and I was able to swim all Summer morning, noon, and night. I got golden highlights in my hair, and my face was sun-kissed... I didn't look/feel half bad, but there were the hormones... dun-da-dun-dun!
Susanna was also two weeks early.

My babies were respectively:
8 lbs, 2 oz
8 lbs
6 lbs, 14 oz (early Sue)
8 lbs, 4 oz
8 lbs, 2 oz

As you can see, they have been consistent. I have a few theories of my own regarding m weight gain, but it's a long long story and still a bit of a mystery. Who knows? Maybe with a few more babies I'll get it figured out?! HA!

Cordelia, Ryan, Amarya, Fiona...
Great names! Thanks so much!!

Momofbugs, your girls are growing so big! It seems we have even more in common;-)
I'm so glad little (Dragonfly, is it?) is walking now, and Carolina is getting the idea and being more brave these days. What a relief!

I DO think it's better to stay OFF the scale as a rule of thumb;-D

I couldn't guess because of the language barrier. I think in Kg so I have NO IDEA what the whole pounds thing means. Except for newborns, for some reason that must always be measured in pounds...

as for the name, have you considered Jessica? There are some very nice people with that name ;)

Served me well all my life and means "wealthy" or "blessed by God" which describes me perfectly.

I can't believe I was so off. You do not look like you have gained that much! I gain between 55 and 65lbs with all of mine. And I have gotten back down to 110 every time. But After I lost it with G, I gained 10 back that I haven't been able to loose. Don't know, it is a mystery. I gained the most with H, she weighed in at 10lbs 3oz though so I guess it only makes sense.
For boys names, Ezekiel (God will Strengthen) and Hezekiah (Power from God). I don't know why I like them I just do.

I have always liked Ella. I think Cordelia is cute too. What about Maya? Jessica is not all over the place like it used to be...it is a pretty name too! I have always loved all of your name choices. In fact, have often thought of using a few. I really like the names Clayton and Susanna...they have been on my list. All your names are great. I am sure you don't need any help from us, but it is fun for us to think names when we don't have an excuse to do so ourselves!
You look loverly by the way. I never would have/could have ventured a guess. Thank goodness for the miracle, calorie-burning activity called "nursing"!!

love ya

Oooh, I thought of another one. Amelia. I am insane clucky at the moment looking at your lovely belly!

Jamie, I'd like to keep an extra ten pounds after I lose back my weight. I feel more comfortable at about 120.
I am so saggy after gaining and losing and nursing...
It IS amazing what the body can do though!

Jess, do they measure babies in Kgs. first? Or pounds? Because traditionally babies are weighed in Kg and then translated to pounds. Don't know why. I don't understand Kgs. at all!
Of COURSE Jessica is lovely - I like it more and more these days ;-)
I also like Amelia very much. And Cordelia.
Jamie, I think you should use those boy names yourself ;-) maybe that will be a possibility in the not to distant future.

I DO like Ella...
This is way easier than wading through the name books. I get the best pickin's!
