"Mom, I Want to Be a Farmer..."

"...When Bryce is ten, I'll be sixteen. He could help me start my farm...

...Brother saved up sixty-one dollars. If I saved up sixty-one dollars I might be able to find a piece of farm equipment I could buy...

...but I want to farm by hand. Not be a lazy farmer who drives a tractor...

...I'll live near you and dad so you can help me with my vegetables...

...I want to have a couple cows so you can make butter... and cheese... and cheesecake...

...I'll grow apples, and lemons, and avocados, and bananas... well no, maybe not bananas. They don't grow around here...

...I want to grow oatmeal plants...

Being a farmer is wonderful, but a lot of work too! Especially the type that doesn't use tractors! We are that lazy kind, but we're trying to become the non-lazy kind and driving horses can make you sore fast!
Heidi's determined to be a doctor and a farmer when she grows up, and I'm starting to think she may need that doctor's salary to make the farming work =) Our oatmeal plants didn't do so well this year (nothing did really) but we should have enough for seed for next year at least.
