Almost nine o'clock at night.
Against my good judgement and without joy at the prospect, I am headed out to gather groceries and a few trinkets for stockings.
I am not a shop-a-holic, rather I am somewhat sane in my thinking that it might be easier without six children in tow - no matter HOW well behaved and pleasant they are!
The thing is, my big guys are getting big enough that it makes sense not to be out during school hours. That throws up red flags for some people and it's not worth it to me to risk the scrutiny.
That leaves after 3-ish, and that's the time for dinner prep, and melt-down prep...
Who wants to shop with six sweeties if it's the "melt-down" time of day?
Which six sweeties want to shop with a melting momma?
Hence the late hour and me going out.
Call me crazy... it's how I do it.(at least the week before Christmas!)

Sometimes I have to do that do and it makes for a late evening by the time you get home and unpack it all and put it away. But I much rather do it that way that take my five out during the day and with homeschooling we get the same scrutiny. Have fun!
I am so laughing right now b/c I have grocery shopping and a little other shopping to do...and you are so right about evening time...but my body is too beat that late so tomorrow I am getting up early and going before B goes to work! Crazy, maybe, but then, maybe not! Good job!
I did consider that option (and my body is crying right now), but five in the morning wasn't sounding too happy to me!
Have fun though, I'll be dreaming of you ;-)
The things we do for our kids is sometimes crazy to others but a mom usually gets it. I hate to go out in the dark and cold but if it's necessary I will! Have a great Christmas.
I too am starting to leave the shopping to late afternoon or by myself at night. Neither are appealing options but............the questions asked of us when we are out in the day are cumbersome. I wish I could get up early like our friend J. Those morning people, what to do with them. :)
