Week #2

I find that in my busy house-hold it's easier for me to change diapers in the living room close to the action, rather than taking the baby to another room.

This is the set-up that works great for me - in fact, I don't even have a changing station other than this:
At this post:
*The basket holds six or eight each, of two sizes of diaper for each girl.

*Next to the basket is my box of wipes
*On the other side of this basket I also keep a zippered bag of hair fixin's, and a water squirt bottle, since I find it makes sense to fix hair when I change diapers first thing in the morning.

Depending on the time of year, here are some other things I keep handy in this basket or bag:

*a Snurfer (alias: nasal aspirator).
*nail clippers
*some Q tips in a zip lock.
*diaper ointment

I keep this basket in the living room (in my house it sits on the fireplace hearth, which is where I gravitate to change a diaper).
I also keep one in my bedroom downstairs where the babies sleep.

Let me know if this tip will come in handy at your house too!

Hi Analene,
wojto beach cottage here! I love your idea of the basket in the lr. I have twin girls not yet two and find myself always changing in midst of the action as well,(I have 5 children total). New I am indeed to the world of blogging. I'm also new over at the homeschool lounge where I found Mama Kenz. Laundry is my biggest challenge. You have a lovely family.
God Bless You! Heidi

Dear Lene, You are sooooo neat and tidy... I have almost the same thing, except MINE is in dipper box and looks none so tidy.

Love you, H

Dear Heidi, I have four children and laundry has always dominated my bedroom floor. I finally had enough; I took ALL of us down to bear minimum for clothes. I now can FIND what I am looking for. I love it. I would recommend keeping extra clothes for the child who is still learning to get the spoon to their mouth. I tend to have to wash the two year olds clothes almost daily.

God bless, Heather

I borrowed this idea from a friend a few months ago - makes life so much easier, doesn't it?! Mine has only diapers and wipes, though. An interesting idea to upsize the basket and put a few more essentials in it.

Nice idea! So neat and orderly! We are almost finished renovating our basement and when it is done I plan on having multiple changing stations as well (especially for when we have another babe!). Right now I keep most of my diapering goodies handy in a children's step stool with a flip top lid in my bathroom (we are working on potty training!). Hmmmm... I feel a post coming on! Thanks for the inspiration! See you around the Challenge- I am so glad you can be a part of it!
