Huh?

Askes Olivia:
"Can we sing the 'Stinking ' song?"
The WHAT?!!

Ah...
Our most recent Hymn "My Hope is Built" or "The Solid Rock" is By Edward Mote (based on Matthew 7 25-26), and if you read the lyrics you might catch why it is the "Stinking Song"
Here they are:

My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly trust in Jesus’ Name.

Refrain

On Christ the solid Rock I stand,
All other ground is sinking sand;
All other ground is sinking sand.

When darkness seems to hide His face,
I rest on His unchanging grace.
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.

Refrain

His oath, His covenant, His blood,
Support me in the whelming flood.
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my Hope and Stay.

Refrain

When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh may I then in Him be found.
Dressed in His righteousness alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.

Refrain

I love this song.
It is the most recent hymn we are learning and which we sing during morning devotion (I use the word "sing" loosely here)

To brag on my Little Bugs, yesterday morning was the first time I actually heard singing!
Nice hearty voices pronouncing words clearly, and wonder of all wonders, HOLDING A TUNE!

Did you read the words? Do you get "Stinking?

On Christ the Solid Rock I stand
All other ground is "STINKING" sand...

I don't think is quite as moving sung this way, so we're working on getting it right!
(You know though... she may have something... )

What a precious memory. Document that one so it is long remembered.

Do use the quote. It spoke such volume to me when I read it, it encompassed so much of what we are striving to teach the kids in all aspects of life.

Do you have a well? Are you contemplating indoor facilities??? I'm that 4-5 am person, so I can't imagine running out in the winter time. Well I'm always hot these days soooo the cold might feel a little good. LOL
;o)love, Heidi

Molly! Well, I don't have very much room to speak. I forgot, until the Heartstrings newsletter came, two days before, and saved the day! :)

Analene, that card you sent her was so cute! She showed it to us on Friday, with all the little chilins writing on it. So cute!
